Ho`āla School is an independent K-12 school in Wahiawa, Hawaii that began in 1986.  The values-based education instills confidence and independence in its students as well as respect, compassion, and critical thinking.  Students are engaged learners because they are cared for and because they care for others.  Service and citizenship are fostered through projects out in the community.

River School is the first charter school in Napa County, California and one of the first one hundred in the state.  Established in 1995, this small, award-winning middle school has adopted Awakening Wisdom as its implicit curriculum for social and emotional learning. From sixth through eighth grades, its students excel academically and demonstrate a high level of maturity and leadership. They love coming to school and often return after being promoted to high school.
